was born on June 12, 1955, in Providence, Rhode Island, and passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2025. Lynn's journey was one marked by passion for education and a deep love for animals, as well as a legacy of creativity and family togetherness.
An accomplished educator, Lynn dedicated eight years of her career to teaching English, first at SUNY Binghamton and then at Virginia Tech. Her commitment to fostering the love of language and literature in her students was evident in every lesson she shared. In addition to her teaching endeavors, Lynn pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, eventually founding the Barrington Veterinary Clinic, where she served her community until her retirement in 2017, due to illness. Before that, she was a dedicated veterinarian at Riverside Animal Hospital, exemplifying her commitment to animal welfare.
Lynn's academic achievements were underpinned by her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Rhode Island College, followed by a Master’s Degree in English from SUNY Binghamton. Her passion for education and literature significantly influenced those around her, leaving a powerful impact in both her professional and personal life.
Creative pursuits were a vital part of Lynn's life. She enjoyed making jewelry with her niece, expressing her artistic side through gardening, and indulging her love for drama in various forms. Lynn was also a talented painter, working with watercolor and oil paints. Her hobbies reflected her joyful spirit and her cherished moments spent with family and friends. Among her philanthropic interests, she held a particular fondness for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, enhancing the lives of those in need.
Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert W., Sr. and Anna (Moretta) Evans. She is survived by her devoted husband, Nicholas O’Donohoe, with whom she shared 47 years of love, companionship, and mutual encouragement. In addition to her husband, Lynn leaves behind her brother, Robert W. Evans, Jr., and his wife Ann; her sisters, Marie DelGallo and her husband Robert, Sr., and Patricia Lussier and her husband Brian; as well as her brother-in-law, Christopher and sister-in-law Judy O’Donohoe. Lynn's legacy also includes many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom will miss her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter.
Lynn Anne Evans O’Donohoe's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, service, and creativity. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
Visitation will be held on November 1, 2025, from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
