Madeline V. (Carroll) Cardillo

Of Cranston passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Cardillo, Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Pasco and Briga (Barone) Carroll.
Mrs. Cardillo worked at Fleet Bank for eighteen years during which time she was recognized for stopping a bank robbery. In her spare time, she crocheted blankets and other items which her family treasures. A lover of language, she spoke several including Latin, German, Italian and French. She also enjoyed reading, writing poetry and listening to music.
She is survived by a son, Joseph V. Cardillo Jr. and his wife Linda of Florida, a daughter Cathy A. DeLuca and her husband Carmine of Cranston, two grandchildren Gian Cardillo and Brianna L. DeLuca. She was also the sister of the late Evelyn Carroll, Annette Carroll Smith and Joseph Croce.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 am in St. Brigid's Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
