24, of Council Rock Rd., Cranston, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at U. Mass Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was the devoted son of Makna and Samoutta (Iem) Men.
Makthra was an I.T. in the computer technology industry. He was a 2009 graduate of Cranston High School West where he was a member of the basketball team and golf team. During the summer, he would volunteer his time with the students at Breakthrough Providence / Summerbridge at Wheeler. He also donated his time in soup kitchens and with Cambodian Society. He received his Associate Degree from Bristol Community College and was attending Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was a recent graduate of the Year Up Program. Makthra played little league baseball in Silver Lake and was elected an All Star and enjoyed football, basketball and golf.
Besides his parents, he was the loving brother of Marina Men, Kanika Men and Nicsaii Men, all of Cranston.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 8 a.m., from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by prayers at The Chapel of Hope and Memory at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
