71, formerly of Matthew 25 Apartments, Greenwich Ave., Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Berkshire Place in Providence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Manuel C. Mello and Anna C. (Lonardo) Mello, Sr.
Manuel was an auto and forklift mechanic at Ocean State Forklifts in Seekonk, MA. He was a former saxophone player who also enjoyed karaoke and owned his own KJ/DJ company. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Manuel was the devoted father of Christopher J. Mello of Cranston, Julie A. Mello of West Warwick and Jason P. Mello of Cumberland; loving grandfather of Brayden J. Mello and Blake A. Mello; and dear brother of Anne Marie Mello-Mitchell and David C. Mello, both of Cranston.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
