Margaret J. "Peg" (Mahan) Wieleba

103 years young, of Narragansett, RI passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester Wieleba. Margaret resided in Wethersfield and South Glastonbury for many years. She later moved to Narragansett, where she and Chester had long enjoyed a summer home.

Born in Southington, CT she was a daughter of the late James and Nora (Welch) Mahan.

Margaret received her bachelor’s degree from Teachers College of Connecticut and was an elementary school teacher in Hartford and Groton for many years. She enjoyed reading and played bridge for over fifty years with her longtime friends.

She leaves her children, Carol Sarabia and her husband Edward W.  Sarabia, Jr. of Narragansett, Joanie Wieleba of Portsmouth, NH and John Wieleba and his wife Karen of Plantsville, CT; a daughter-in-law, Laura Wieleba of East Haddam, CT; grandchildren, Meghan (Nick) Guglietta, Chloe, Julia, Amy and Mark Wieleba; and a great-grandson, Aiden Guglietta.  She also leaves her dear cousin, Marge Cushing and many nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Paul Wieleba; and sister of the late Mary Ippolito and Joseph Mahan.

Her funeral and burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
