Maria Elena (Petteruto) DeConte

89, of Johnston, passed away on Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Domenic DeConte. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Matteo and Assunta (Ullucci) Petteruto.
Mary was the devoted mother of Susan DeConte of Johnston and Lory DeConte of Johnston with whom she resided; loving grandmother of Dina Needham and her husband Jeremy of Cranston, Stephen Evangelista and his wife Adriana of Maryland and David Evangelista and his wife Carmen of Spain; loving great-grandmother of Dylan, Mallory and Alyssa Needham, Sophia and Nicholas Evangelista and Jon and Paul Evangelista. She was the dear sister of Albino Petteruto of Providence. Mary worked for Social Security Administration for 17 years before retiring. She was one of the founding members of the RI Arthritis Support Group, former volunteer of the Arthritis Foundation Speakers Program, member of the Daughters of Isabella Sacred Heart Circle # 839 and a proud member of Small Christian Community of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish for 25 years.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church Johnston at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
