77 of Providence, RI, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose E. Garcia. Born in Santiago, she was the daughter of the late Jose A. and Anna F. Fernandez.

Maria was the devoted mother of Felix Nelson Garcia and his wife Eliana, Fernand E. Garcia and David J. Garcia and his wife Lorena all of Providence, Miguel E. Garcia of TX and Erika L. Zen and her husband Gerardo of FL; dear sister of Blasina Isabel Fernandez “China”, Mercedes Fernandez and Rosa Fernandez “Rosita” all of the Dominican Republic and the late Jose Manuel Fernandez and Juan Nicanor Fernandez “Cuco”; cherished grandmother of twenty-seven and loving great-grandmother of twenty-one.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 178 Dexter St., Providence. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Sunday, February 22nd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
