Maria C. (Creta) Giorno

of Clark Ave., Cranston, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Bernardino Giorno.  Born in Pietravairano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Iadevia) Creta.

Maria was a worker in the manufacturing industry for many years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always loved having her family around her.  She cherished hosting family dinners and sharing the love of her family.

Besides her husband Bernardino, she was the devoted mother of Joseph Giorno and his partner Colleen Cahir, and Sandra Giorno, all of Cranston, Maria Moio and her husband Robert of Johnston and Concettina Jacavone and her husband Dino of Scituate; loving grandmother of  Robert Moio and his wife Katherine, Brianna Engley and her husband Zachary, Christina Giorno, Anthony Moio and Dino and Isabella Jacavone; loving great-grandmother of Jason Engley; and dear sister of Letizia Robbio of Cranston and the late Liberato and Giuseppe Creta and Filomena Romano.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday, September 18th at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
