a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. Born on August 24, 1944, in Pietramelara, Italy, Maria was a daughter of the late Antonio and Caterina (Santonastaso) Sabino.
Maria's career journey was one characterized by commitment and care. She worked at T Sardelli & Sons and was the proud owner of a home day care, where she provided nurturing support to many children. Later, she dedicated her talents to Amgen until her retirement in 2007. Throughout her working years, Maria was known for her warmth and reliability, qualities that endeared her to colleagues and friends alike.
Perhaps Maria’s proudest accomplishments were not measured by her career alone, but by the family she raised and adored. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Luigi Carbone, with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage.
She leaves two daughters, Madelena Guadagno of North Providence and Tanya Carbone of Cranston; a daughter-in-law, Karen Steiner Guempel of NJ; a brother Pasquale Sabino of Chicago Heights, Illinois; and a sister Antoniette Pone of Pietramelara, Italy; her beloved grandchildren, Sarina Guadagno, Genaro Guadagno, Jase Deanseris, and Emilia Deanseris; and great-granddaughters Stella Falcao and Valentina Falcao.
She was the mother of the late Jerry Guadagno; and sister of the late Giuseppe, Josepina, Mario, Salvatore, and Luigi Sabino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 10am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITING HOURS Tuesday from 4-8pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
