Marie J. (Spetrini) Bauer

93, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 after a short struggle of being bed bound. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Bauer. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Angelina (D’Andrea) Spetrini.

A mother and survived by her three children, Denise Russo and her husband Ralph Eiland, Dennis Bauer, Doreen Labaire and her husband David; cherished grandchildren Nicole Sullivan and her husband Christopher, Michael Russo and his wife Danielle, Nicholas Bauer and his wife Kate, Cassidy Bauer, Leigha Bauer-Delaney and her husband John; adored great grandchildren Elle Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan, Mallory Russo, Dylan Russo, Luca Russo, Clara Russo, Jason Bauer-Delaney, Raelyn Bauer-Delaney, Nolan Bauer, Ayla Bauer; dear sister Barbara Pagliarini and her husband John; and she was the sister of the late Joseph Spetrini, Thomas Spetrini, John Spetrini, Robert Spetrini, Louis Spetrini, Ann Zwolinski, Betty Berndtson, and Catherine "Kay" Moretti. In addition to many nieces and nephews, including Charles Van Sise and his wife Kathleen who were prominent figures in her daily life, she also leaves her loyal friend of 65 years, Mary (Aghjayan) Ifhkanian.

She worked as an executive secretary and/or office manager through the years at companies including British Leyland Motor Corporation, Crandall-Hicks Company, Commonwealth Imported Auto, General Motors Corporation and Raytheon Company in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In her final working years, she enjoyed selling shoes in the Dillard's children's shoes department. She relocated from the Boston/Providence area to Florida in 1990 where she enjoyed the sunshine, playing Scrabble and her retirement years.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday, September 18th from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, RI. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
