Marie Ann Caparco, daughter of the late John and Anna (Sivo) Caparco, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center at the age of 93.
Born in Providence, a lifelong resident of Cranston, Marie graduated from Cranston East High School and began her career as an Executive Secretary at the former Imperial Knife Company. Following the closing of Imperial Knife, Marie continued working part-time jobs because she truly enjoyed the social aspects of life and the friendships she made along the way, including positions at Bell Simons Plumbing Supply and Calvitto's Bakery in Cranston.
Marie is survived by her loving sister, Carolyn Manzi; her devoted nephews and nieces; Steven Manzi, and his wife, Joanne, Marianne Manzi and her husband, Joseph Pittle, Cindy Ruozzo and her husband, Paul, Richard Booth and his partner Jeannette Haynes, Linda Wholean and her husband, Coleman, and Carole Anne Caparco. She was predeceased by her brother, John Caparco, brother-in-law Frank Manzi, and her nephew, Michael Manzi.
Steven and his wife, Joanne, were her devoted primary caregivers during the last eight months of her life, providing her with exceptional love, comfort, and support.
Marie, affectionately known as ‘Auntie Ree,’ enjoyed spending time with her family, especially time with her great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her friends and many cousins. She also enjoyed traveling and cherished the memories of her trips, including visits to Hawaii and Italy. Marie will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the genuine joy she found in being surrounded by those she loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston.
