Marie A. (Bellini) D'Iorio

98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando D’Iorio, Esq. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Concetta (Comella) Bellini.

Marie was the devoted mother of Angela M. Garganese and her husband Charles Garganese, Jr., Esq. of Cranston and the late Anne Marie D’Alessio and her husband Domenic D’Alessio of CO; cherished and loving grandmother of Amanda A. Garganese, Esq. and her husband Brian Kulas of Cranston and Vanessa M. Carbone of CO; and dear sister of the late Angela Bellini.

Marie worked in her earlier years as a medical claims examiner at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI where she was a passionate advocate for those in need. She also attended Arthur Angelo Beauty School and enjoyed practicing her talents on family and friends (free of charge!) However, her greatest vocation was being a wife, mother, grandmother, devoted daughter, and sister. She endured many years of struggles and heartbreak as a caretaker to her husband, as well as other family members, but her devotion was unmatched. Despite these challenges, she always sought out the positives and kept life festive.

Marie had many passions, some of which evolved into making a difference in the areas that were important to her through her own life experiences. She was instrumental in passing the legislation of certification of nursing aides (CNAs) through Aging 2000 with Ira Magaziner. She loved news and politics and was an avid reader of the Providence Journal, reading it cover-to-cover well into her 90’s. She was also the RI Chairwoman for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, where she participated in an event with Danny Thomas at the Providence Civic Center. Among her greatest achievements was her unrelenting dedication to her family, friends, neighbors, or anyone that needed help.

Marie was well known as the “go to trouble shooter”. There was no end to the lengths she would go to get things done to help others. Her resourcefulness, vigor, and rolodex knew no bounds, and she refused to take “no” for an answer. She loved her home and was a consummate entertainer. She enjoyed cooking and baking and enjoying meals with those close to her. Her home was the central place for parties, holidays and gatherings of any kind. Everyone and anyone were always welcome at her kitchen table. Someone was always sitting at her kitchen table at any given time whether it be the cable guy, an HVAC technician, any member of the Johnston Fire Department, or a priest. She loved to go shopping, out to dinner, and the casino with her cohorts of ladies. She was an avid animal lover, caring for many pets (and strays) throughout her lifetime, and was famously generous to many charities. Those who knew her, know that she was one of a kind. She was known for her generosity to many, and it gave her great pleasure in knowing she made things easier for those she loved. She will be greatly missed and life for her family will never be the same again. She will be eternally loved and cherished.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 30th at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Buril in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Rd., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, Visiting hours are Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
