Marie L. "Mickey" (Stevens) Mason

94, Narragansett, RI passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph J. and Marion (Bender) Stevens. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Daniel R. Mason. She leaves behind her brother, Joseph J. Stevens of Altoona and five devoted daughters: Mary Mason of Narragansett, RI, Lee Ann Mason of Shallotte, NC, Theresa Therkelsen of Granby, CT, Ann Marie Gelinas of West Hartford, CT, and Katey Marsella of Suffield, CT. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; daughter, Danielle Mason who died in infancy; and two sisters, Anna Jean Mason and Rita Marie McConville.

“Mickey” was a 1948 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She was also a graduate of Mount Aloysius College in Cresson where she studied textile design.

Mickey was a dedicated mother and homemaker to her five girls. After raising the family, she went to work for Ethan Allen furniture as a decorator before retiring to Citrus Hills, FL with her husband, Dan, in 1985. They volunteered with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter and also enjoyed gardening and visiting with family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Rhode Island at a later date.
