85, formerly of Edgewood, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel Ornazian. Born in Marseille, France, she was the daughter of the late Nishan and Lucia (Ossepian) Nezamian. A classically-trained concert pianist, she was one of the youngest students ever admitted to the Conservatory of Marseille. After emigrating from France, she settled in Cranston and enjoyed an active involvement with the Armenian community -- singing with the choir, teaching Armenian school, and serving as a member of the Sts. Vartanantz Church Ladies' Guild. She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War. She enjoyed crocheting, the beach, and bible studies at Ocean State Baptist Church. Marie and her late husband spent ten happy retirement years in Davenport, Florida before returning to family and friends in the Northeast. Marie is remembered by all as a cheerful, loving person with a warm personality, a strong faith and endless zeal for life. She was the devoted mother of Marena "Mel" Boyadjian and her late husband, Bedros "Peter" of Portsmouth, Dr. Lillian Esther Ornazian-Eterian and her husband Ken of Windham, NH and Lisa Ornazian of Allen, TX; loving grandmother of Christina, Capt. Gregory USAF, Diana, James, and Isabelle; and dear sister of Rosette, Jack, and Joseph Nezamian. She is remembered by cousins in California, North Carolina, and France. Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Burial will be private.
