Marie A. (Fazioli) Romano

91, of Greenville, passed peacefully into the Kingdom of her Lord, and the waiting arms of her Husband, Albert A. Romano, on Friday, August 25, 2017.  Joining Al, in welcoming Marie, were her Father, John Fazioli, her Mother, Carmella (Mainella) Fazioli, her Sister, Judith Cicillini, her Brother, Bernard Fazioli, and, a host of friends, Sisters and Brothers-in-Law, and Nieces and Nephews, all who had the privilege and joy of sharing the kindness and beauty of her life.

Marie was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1926. After graduation from High School she worked as an Executive Secretary until her Marriage to Al. Thereafter, her life was devoted to her family. She cherished her Children, Al (Tad), Maureen, Kathy, Lynne, and Lori and imparted to them her wisdom, unconditional love, and life lessons which guided them through the challenges and accomplishments of their changing lives. She was a gourmet Italian cook, baker, pastry chef, and, a medical technician skilled in the fixing of skinned knees, bruised egos, and life’s little hurts. For that, her children remain eternally grateful. As time marched on, Marie continued to share her love, her lessons, and her skills with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Visits to Marie and Al at their winter home in West Palm Beach were highly anticipated and always enjoyed. Holiday and Christmas Eve memories at Nana’s house in Greenville, with a cast of 40, enjoying food, family, friendship, and frivolity, will never be replicated, and never forgotten. Marie’s life and legacy will continue and perpetuate in the generations of Family she raised, loved, and guided.

Marie was a daily Communicant at St. Phillips Parish in Greenville, and an active participant in Perpetual Adoration, until illness prevented her. She was a member of the Alpine Country Club and Rally Point Tennis Club and always enjoyed the competition of her tennis and golf matches.

Marie is survived by her loving children, Albert R. Romano and his wife Rachelle of Key West, FL, Maureen Civito and her husband Edward of Greenville, Kathleen Romano of Greenville, Lynne Ward-Smith and her husband Paul of West Palm Beach, FL, Lori Fogarty and her husband Peter of Wakefield; 12 cherished grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; dear Sisters, Nancy Wunderler of Warwick and Lorna Meunier of Greenville.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 28 at St. Philip’s Church in Greenville.

Services and Burial at St. Francis Cemetery were private at the request of the family.
