Marta Ines (Travi) Prezioso

Marta Ines (Travi) Prezioso, 72, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Marta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the cherished daughter of the late Alfredo Luis Jose Travi and Maria Teresa (De Luca) Travi.

Marta's life was a testament to love and devotion. She shared a beautiful journey with her beloved husband, Umberto Prezioso, that started in Argentina and led them to America where they built a wonderful life together over the last five decades.  In 2022, they joyously celebrated fifty years of marriage.

Her faith was the guiding light that illuminated Marta’s life, and her devout Catholic beliefs played a central role in everything she did. She attended Mass almost daily and was passionate about instilling the beliefs of Jesus and God in her family.

For over 35 years, Marta was employed by Citizens Bank, where her hard work and dedication were memorialized at the bank’s headquarters in Providence, RI.  Marta had a passion for hosting, cooking, and warmly welcoming friends and family into her home. Everyone who visited felt like a part of the family in her presence, as she poured her heart into making each moment special. She was also a very skilled knitter, specializing in creating warm comfort knits for her grandchildren.

But beyond her professional and personal endeavors, Marta’s true happiness was spending time with and spoiling her six beloved grandchildren. The joy and love she brought into their lives will forever be cherished.

As we bid farewell to Marta, let us remember her as a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many through her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Her beautiful smile and legacy will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

May she rest in eternal peace.

Besides her husband she is survived by her three children Tricia Charves and her fiancé Thomas Pellegrino, Jr., Adrian Prezioso and his wife Jeanine, and Andrew Prezioso and his wife Julie. She was the best Nonna to Nicolas (9), Vincent (7), Joseph (6), Benjamin (5), Vale (4), and Vivienne (6 months). She was the sister of Rosario Isabel (Travi) Auer, and Juan Carlos Travi. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews and friends in America and Buenos Aires.

Her funeral will leave at 9:00 am on Wednesday August 2, 2023, from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.  VISITING HOURS will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
