Mary A. (Mohn) Cooney

77 of Cranston has passed, Thursday, December 4th, at Cra-Mar Meadows, in Cranston, RI.

Born in Jonestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Violet (Ober) Mohn, and beloved wife of the late William H. Cooney of Cranston, RI, for 43 years.

Mary was a Social Worker for the State of RI, for 35 years. She assisted the Department of Child Welfare, Cranston Social & Relative Services, the Department of Developmental Disabilities, and prior to retirement, the Psychiatric Unit of Eleanor Slater Hospital.

Mary was a woman of family and faith. She served on many committees, as a loyal member of Shepard of the Valley Methodist Church. Outside of church, she was an avid Patriots fan, and loved staying active, with her bowling league, and water aerobics. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family, William H. Cooney III of Tampa FL, Colleen Cooney of Cranston, RI, Kathleen Cooney Maguire, and her husband Jason Maguire of Coventry, RI. She cherished her grandchildren, Liam & Caden Cooney, and Maryann & William Maguire.
