96, of Narragansett, R.I., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, just a few days shy of her 97th birthday. Born in Scranton, Pa., a daughter of the late Harriet (Lathrop) and Aloysius O'Neill, she lived in Wenonah, N.J. from 1941 to 1971 and Sea Isle City, N.J. before moving to Narragansett in 2002. She operated a gift shop, The Village Shoppe, in Wenonah and Sea Isle City, N.J. from 1965 to 1981. She was a member of the Garden Club of Sea Isle City, the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph's Church, and belonged to many reading, sewing and duplicate bridge groups. During the 1960s, she modeled in several Philadelphia department stores. She is survived by two sons, Terence R. Fleming and his wife Arline of Narragansett; Michael J. Fleming and his wife Christine of Harleysville, Pa.; and was predeceased by son Dr. Timothy T. Fleming, who had lived in New Mexico. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kathryn, Margaret and Bridget Fleming of Narragansett; Michael Fleming of Delaware; Carrie Fleming of Maryland; Adam Fleming of Oregon; Jesse Deaux of Washington and Chamisa Wilkinson of Connecticut; a brother, Harry O'Neill of New Jersey; a sister, Frances Hickey of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dolores Weil and Margaret Alden; a brother, Aloysius O'Neill; a grandson, Geoffrey Fleming, and her former husband, Dr. Roy Fleming. Arrangements are being handled by Nardolillo Funeral Home, Narragansett. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
