Mary Jane Rolfe Briggs

of Bonnet Shores, Narragansett, RI, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024.

She was born January 29, 1947 to Robert A. Rolfe and Elizabeth Lenehan Rolfe. She was the sister of Geraldine Rolfe Donovan of Ashville, NC, Kathleen Rolfe Prior of Charlestown, RI and the late Robert A. Rolfe, Jr.

Mary Jane grew up in Hartford, CT and attended St. Francis School of Radiologic Technologists graduating in 1967. She worked at the VA Hospital in Rocky Hill, CT for 18 years and later worked at several radiological groups in the Greater Hartford area. In 1977, she married the love of her life, Robert M. Briggs from Westerly, RI. They made their home in Wethersfield, CT moving to Bonnet Shores in Narragansett, RI in 2001. 

She loved to golf and participated in the South County Women’s Golf League and although busy, found time to volunteer at South County Hospital. She possessed and displayed great courage and humanity throughout her life as well as a wonderful sense of humor and was deeply loved by her immediate family, nieces, nephews, and all who knew her. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI followed by a gathering of friends at the church hall.
