99, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Rotondo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Rose (Giarrusso) Ranucci.
As a child, she loved to play softball and helped her family with chores and caring for her siblings. Throughout Mary’s life, she was recognized for her friendly, lively personality and her creative and artistic talents. In her school days, the principal would ask Mary to design the auditorium and stages for school events, seasonal plays, musicals, and more. As a young lady, she learned to sew, making her own clothes as well as outfits for her two daughters.
A woman of many talents, she was also an excellent cook and baker, making her famous Italian wandies for holidays and special occasions. Her chicken tenders were always a favorite request of the grandkids, along with many other delicious dishes. For many years, Mary was a designer of fine jewelry and created product lines for customers such as JCPenney, Walmart, QVC, and independent business owners. She traveled all over the world to meet customers and present her work at jewelry shows.
Mary loved to dance. At any opportunity, she looked for floor space to move to the music and what a great dancer she was. Her passion was painting. She made portraits of her children, grandchildren, and others, as well as landscape paintings. She loved flowers and scenery. At 99, she continued to enjoy her craft and had recently created many treasures that she shared with her fortunate recipients.
She is survived by her loving children, Rosemary Casale and her husband Stephen of Cranston, and Annmarie Cabral and her husband Kevin of Somerset, MA. She was the adored grandmother of Stephen L. Casale, Larissa Tedesco (Anthony), Deana Cimalore (Thomas), Thomas Pilozzi (Rivanilda), Bethany Midwood (Jason), David Cabral (Heather), Andrea Cabral, and Alayna Cabral. Cherished great grandmother of Gianna, Isabella, Emma, Chloe, Annabelle, Norah, Luca, and Thomas. Sister of the late Sam Ranucci, Anthony Ranucci, Angelo Ranucci, Jennie Caldamone, Ann Vento, and Carmella Serapiglia.
Her funeral services are respectfully private.
