Matilda F. (Scienzo) Giarrusso
99, of Providence, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Cherry Hill Nursing Home in Johnston. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Concetta (Amato) Scienzo.
She is survived by her children; John Giarrusso of Warwick, David Giarrusso of West Greenwich, Raymond and Donald Giarrusso, Josephine Eaton and Jeannettte Wahl all of Providence and the late Helen Giarrusso, Carlo Giarrusso, Jr., Marie Rothermel, Anna Carnevale and Pasquale Giarrusso. Matilda was the sister of John Scienzo of Cranston and the late Tobio Scienzo, Mary Capuano, Anna Snzyck and Raymond Scienzo. She was the grandmother of thirty-six, and had numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS for family and their close friends will be Monday from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 931 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 3004 Warwick, RI 02886.
