Matteo DeSimone

100, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris H. “DeDe” (Silvestri) DeSimone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pellegrino and Angelina (Armenti) DeSimone.

Matteo was a US Army Veteran serving in World War II under General George Patton. After his military service, he worked as a finished carpenter for many years before retiring. He loved watching sports, going for walks and spending quality time with his family, especially during Sunday dinners.

Matteo is survived by his loving children, Debra Lamantia and her husband Michael, Barbara DeRita, Peter DeSimone and his wife Teresa, and Jean Hindle. He was the devoted grandfather of Michael Lamantia, Jr. and his wife Judy, Jason Lamantia and his wife Sara, Joseph DeRita and his wife Yaredys, Anthony DeRita and his wife Amanda, Christina DeRita, Megan DeSimone, Brian DeSimone, Michelle Hindle and Christopher Hindle. He was the great grandfather of Lily Bella, Lincoln Matteo, Lyra Robyn, Jayden, Javian, Julian, and Riley Grace.

His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11:00am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
