Dr. Michael Ayrassian Jr, 73, of Kane Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Providence Rhode Island. He was the son of the late Michael and Lucy (Balletto) Ayrassian. He was married to Deborah (Ruz) Ayrassian for 37 years.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College in Rhode Island. He then went to Medical School at the University Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine in Mexico. He then went on to his residency at Reading Hospital in Reading Pennsylvania where he specialized in Family Medicine.
Over his career Michael practiced in Atlanta, Georgia, Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Kane, Pennsylvania, and then accepted a position from Warren State Hospital in Warren, Pennsylvania where he retired from in 2019.
Michael enjoyed going to Medical Conferences and traveling to the beach. He really enjoyed the Ocean. He loved watching sports, especially the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, his son Michael Ayrassian III, and his grandson Matthew Michael Ayrassian. He is also survived by two sisters, Cindy Amer (Mohamed Amer) and Sandra Garzone (and the late Allen Garzone), one brother, Kenneth Ayrassian, one niece and several nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27th at 10 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence, RI, followed by burial at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at church prior to funeral service.
