Michael Caparco, Jr.

77, of Smithfield passed away Friday January 9, 2026 at the VA Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Piccoli) Caparco.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late Michael and Maria (Martelino) Caparco. Michael was the Manager of Ryder Transportation where he was a truck driver, mechanic and dispatcher for many years. Michael was stationed on the DMZ during the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Michael Caparco, III, and his wife Lisa, Matthew Caparco and Marcus Caparco; loving grandfather of Alexandria Lopardo, Micaela Short, Justin Caparco, Marcus Caparco and Michael Caparco, IV; loving great-grandfather of Monty Lopardo, Remy Lopardo, Wesley Lopardo and Mason Short.

He was the dear brother of Maryanne Young, Ann Root and the late Carmela Olvera, Josephine Galuses, Querino (Jerry) Ventre, John Ventre and Salvatore Ventre.

His funeral arrangements were private.
