MICHAEL JOHN CONCA, SR

81, of Forand Circle, Johnston passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Rose M. (Paliotti) Conca who passed away on March 8, 2010. They were married for 57 years. He was born in Cranston a son of the late John and Mary (Tribelli) Conca. Mr. Conca was Co-Owner and Founder with his late wife of Mi-Ro Jewelry Co. of Providence for 30 years until their retirement. Mr. Conca was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Scalabrini Council, Johnston and had served as the Grand Knight from 1964-1965 and again in 1984-1985. He also served as a Past District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid musician and had taught accordion and guitar. He was the devoted father of Michael J. Conca Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Westerly, Gina A. Perrotti and her husband Mark of Cranston. He was the father of the late Linda A. Carnevale and father-in law of Joseph Carnevale of Johnston. He was also the loving grandfather of Joseph and Jonathan Carnevale. He was the brother of Rita Cervone of Warwick and the late Julia Matera and Leonard Conca. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:am. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 6946 Post Rd., North Kingstown, RI 02853.
