82, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Michael was the beloved husband of Evelyn A. (Tedeschi) Guarino for fifty-nine wonderful years. Born in Providence, Michael was the eldest son of the late Mariano and Inez (Iannotti) Guarino. Among his many accomplishments, Michael was an US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War as a Machinist on the first ever naval ship with tandem runways. He was a member of the BPO Elks of USA for over sixty years. Michael was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and actively worked as a Designer, Model Maker, and was the Owner of Contract Specialties of Providence, a family operated business for more than forty-five years. Throughout his life, Michael touched the lives of many through his story telling, laughter, thoughtfulness and love of music. He was known to entertain his loved ones with his exceptional piano playing. Michael truly lived for his family and gathered many dear friends over the years. Besides his wife, Michael was the loving father of two daughters, Donna L. Fantozzi and her husband Joseph, and Kathleen A. Gambuto and her husband David, all of Cranston. He was the proud grandfather of Joseph A. Fantozzi, Jr. and his wife Kelly, Amanda Lynn Gambuto, and Lora Lee Gambuto, and the treasured great-grandfather of Thomas and Savina Fantozzi. Michael was the brother of Robert A. Guarino and his wife Sandra of Jamestown, and Kenneth F. Guarino and his wife Elle of Cranston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston.
