Michael A. St. Angelo Sr.

90, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris (Hawksley) St. Angelo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Florence (Diodati) St. Angelo.

Michael devoted his life to the preservation of our architectural heritage. As the owner of East Coast Masonry & Restoration, he specialized in the restoration and conservation of historic masonry, working on treasured buildings and structures throughout New England and beyond. His deep knowledge of traditional craftsmanship and his respect for history enabled him to restore and preserve historic properties for future generations. He approached every project with integrity, pride, and a genuine commitment to maintaining the character and beauty of our historic landmarks.

Michael loved traveling with family and friends, whether throughout the country or abroad in Europe. He enjoyed boating and spent as much time on the water as he could. An avid card player with a deep love of life, he was a devoted family man whose family was always his first priority. Time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was his world.

Michael is survived by his loving children, Michelle Pattie of Johnston, Cynthia Gardiner of North Scituate, and Michael St. Angelo, Jr., of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael Picerno, Justin Gardiner, Jennifer North, Talia St. Angelo, and Michael S. St. Angelo; and the adored great-grandfather of Jordyn Picerno, Michael Picerno, Tyler North, Isabella North, and Jaxon Gardiner. He also leaves his brother, Anthony “Tony” St. Angelo of Maryland. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sheryl St. Angelo; his sister, Mary Kalapinski; and his brothers, Astillodore "Jerry" St. Angelo, Giovanni "John" St. Angelo, Alfred “Freddie” St. Angelo, and Joseph “Sonny” St. Angelo.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 10th, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 4:00-8:00 p.m.
