Michelangelo Coppa

83, of West Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Cucinotta) Coppa. Born in Forio d'Ischia, Italy, he was a son of the late Archimede and Lucia (Verde) Coppa.
He left home at age 17 to join the Merchant Marines. He then settled in the United States in 1955. He retired at age 63 after working many years at Cardi Corporation. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed gardening, making homemade wine, and doing handiwork around the house.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, A. Michael Coppa, M.D. and his wife Teresa of Cranston, Lucy Ann Harris and her husband Richard of Cranston, and Grace Marie Macchioni and her husband David of Coventry; cherished grandchildren Justin, Alexandra, Gabriella, Michael Coppa, Michael and Olivia Harris, Nicholas and Dominic Macchioni; dear siblings Gerardo Coppa, Elio Coppa, Restituta Vari, and Rosa Lauro all of Italy. He was the brother of the late Giacomo Coppa.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 70 Church St., West Warwick. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Warwick. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
