Michelle L. Sousa, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on December 16, 1970, in Providence, she embraced life with a fiercely independent spirit and a loving heart that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Michelle dedicated a significant portion of her career as an administrator for various companies, with her most recent position at an Environmental Management Company. Her professional life was marked by her commitment to excellence and her strong work ethic. She pursued her education diligently, earning her associate degree from Katherine Gibbs after high school, laying the foundation for her successful career.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Michelle had a profound love for the beach, finding joy and solace in its tranquil shores. She relished cooking and entertaining for her family and friends, creating lasting memories centered around her hospitality and warmth. An avid animal lover, she adored her dog Gia and held fond memories of her late dogs, Mini and Princess.
Michelle is survived by her devoted husband, George Sousa; her loving father, Michael DiCecco; mother Janet (Kako) DiCecco; her sisters, Lisa DelSesto (Steven) and Rhonda Morris (Michael); her sister-in-law, Dawn Rose McCahey; and her treasured nephews, Kyle DelSesto, Derek DelSesto, Steven DelSesto, Michael Morris, Jr., Orlando Rose, and great-nephew, Lucas DelSesto.
Michelle’s personality shone through in her caring and compassionate demeanor, captivating everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her legacy of love and generosity will endure in the hearts of many.
Visitation will be held on September 13, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, located at 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, RI. A Mass will follow at St. Rocco Church, located at 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI, starting at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private. Please visit NARDOLILLOFH.com.
