Nicholas W. Capezza Sr., 87, a lifelong Cranston resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the RI Veterans Home, Bristol surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Ida E. (Campano) Capezza. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Antonetta (Giordani) Capezza. Mr. Capezza was employed as an auto mechanic for Providence Nash Co., Lloyd Long Oldsmobile and Davisville Construction Equipment Dept. He was an Army veteran of WW-II and the Korean conflict. Nicholas was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church, was past president and treasurer of the Holy Name Society, a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and served as an Extraordinary Minister and usher. He was the devoted father of Christine M. Christy of Cranston and Nicholas W. Capezza Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Robert and his wife Kristen, Amanda, Lauren and Victoria and great grandfather of Annabelle. He was the loving brother of Gina V. Cofone of Jamestown and Concetta Capezza of Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew's Church 305 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence on Saturday at 9:30am. Burial will be private.
