Norma M. (Barthelette) Smith

of Providence, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Elmhurst Extended Care in Providence.  She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Smith.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Selena (St. Onge) Barthelette.  She is survived by her loving son, former State Representative and former President of Providence Teachers Union Steven F. Smith and his wife Donna (Recchia) of Providence.  She was the sister of the late Arthur Barthelette and Selena Jones.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Norma worked at the former T. Sardelli and Sons for 19 years until her retirement.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 18 King Philip St., Providence.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
