Norma G. (Battersby) Sparling

97, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 16, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Elwin E. Sparling.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Lawton) Battersby.

Norma was the former President and Treasurer of Sparling Steel Contracting, Inc. in Cranston for many years with her husband.

She was the loving mother of Diane Lockard, Alan, Michael, David, Edward, Steven, Richard, and the late Donald Sparling; cherished grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 12; dear sister of Robert, Ken, and the late William Battersby.

Her funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
