NORMA J. (SOUZA) BENEVIDES-STREEPER, 79, of Warwick, formerly of Providence and Cranston, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Elvira (Stevens) Souza.
Norma was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in North Providence for 30 years before retiring in 2012. Her kind and accommodating nature were admirable traits as well as her cordial and pleasant manner. Through this, Norma gained the respect of friendship by all who knew her.
She was the devoted mother of Lydia F. Galligan of Narragansett, Vera A. Watkins of California, William C. Benevides of Newport, Norman J. "Jimmy" Benevides of Cranston, Darryl P. Streeper of Warwick and the late Anthony A. Benevides, Denise L. Benevides, Harry S. Benevides, Wayne M. Benevides and Dean V. Streeper and dear sister of Dolores Tillinghast of Woonsocket, Patricia Levine and Anthony Souza, both of Cranston and the late Mildred Abjornson. Norma also leaves twenty grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 3rd at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
