90, of Cranston, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Salvatore A. Varrica.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Ida (Marrone) Tritendi.
Norma was retired from Stop and Shop on Manton Avenue, Providence where she worked for over 20 years in the floral department. She was loved be her co workers, who became friends who visited and stayed in touch with her through the years. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her treasured family. For Easter Sunday her wish was that everyone of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren would come together for the holiday with her. With two of them even flying in from California, her wish came true and was truly grateful for that beautiful day. Norma will always be lovingly remember by so many for her generosity, hospitality, great cooking and of course her uncensored and hilarious comments, and opinions on various subjects even if you didn't ask for it.
She was the beloved mother of Christiana Provencal, Norma-Jean Pirri, Anne Barletta and Salvatore Varrica; loving grandmother of Amanda Banos, Laura-Jean Ferranti, William Provencal, Samantha Pirri, Christopher Varrica, Frank Pirri III;Alexandria Barletta and Anthony Merolli; loving great-grandmother of Christian, Gia, Francesca, Adrian, Liviana, Gabriella, Gemma, Gennara, Gennaro, Lorenzo and Giuliana.
Her funeral will be held on Monday May 11, 2026 from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston at 9:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd. Johnston at 11:00 am. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
