Olive (Pagliarini) DiFranco

Olive Cecile (Pagliarini) DiFranco, age 94, of Cranston, died on the morning of July 17, 2026. She was the wife of the late Tullio J. DiFranco, daughter of the late Marco and Angelina (Mottola) Pagliarini, sister of the late Edward Pagliarini, mother of Debra Thomson, Linda Murray (John), and Julie DiFranco, grandmother of 7, John Frankin Murray, (Melissa Murray) Edward Murray, Matthew Gormley (deceased), Christopher Gormley, (Patricia Gormley) Jessica Harris, Anthony Harris (Allison Harris) and Lindsey Harris. Great-grandmother of 10, and great-great-grandmother of 2.

Olive was a stay-at-home Mom who cooked great meals, sewed clothes for her three daughters, and raised flowers in her garden. Her life was dedicated to her family, and during Sunday meals and holidays the house was filled with family members enjoying home-made Italian dinners and desserts. Her recipes live on, and her pizza and Christmas cookies will always be enjoyed by family members who continue her traditions.

The Mottola, Pagliarini and DiFranco families were very large, and Olive kept in touch with all of her aunts, uncles and cousins her entire life. Family reunions, weddings, holidays and house visits took place all the time, and now her children and grandchildren are continuing that tradition.

Once the children were grown, Olive and Tullio spent time traveling the world. They visited many states during road trips, and traveled to China, Russia, Panama, and, of course, Italy. In Alaska, Olive convinced Tullio that they should take a helicopter ride to a glacier, which surprised everyone, including her.

Olive enjoyed a long life filled with love. She will be missed.
