98, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at The Cedars in Cranston. He was a resident of Cranston and Del Ray Beach Florida. He was the beloved husband of the late Emily (Ricci) Saccoccia. Born in Cranston, one of 9 children, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rosina (Ciccarelli) Saccoccia.
He served in WWII under General George Patton in Europe, in the 3rd Army Tank Division.
He was a member of The City Hall Athletic Club where he excelled in football, baseball and softball. He was a charter member of The Alpine Country Club and an avid golfer.
Pat was the co-founder of Sak’s Centredale Liquors and Wine Cellar, co-founder of Sully Realty, and owner of Pat Realty. He was the oldest living male member of the Saint Mary’s Feast Society.
He is survived by his loving children Pasquale Saccoccia, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Naples, Florida, Edward S. Saccoccia and his wife Ann of Lincoln, Rose Mary Benintende and Joan Tullie MS, RN, FCNS and her husband Kevin of Warwick.
He was also the cherished grandfather of 7, great grandfather of 6, great-great grandfather of 2 and dear brother of Angelo Saccoccia of Warwick and Louise (Saccoccia) Houlihan of Cranston. He was also the grandfather of the late Janine Benintende, father in-law of the late Jack Benintende and brother of the late Frank, Salvatore, Anthony Saccoccia and Loretta Grossi, Mary Crudale and Ann Thibault.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 4-8 pm.
