Went home to rest with the Lord on Friday March 7, 2014 surrounded by his three loving daughters. John was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late John and Anna Janiak.He is survived by his brother Gary Janiak and sister Joan Lauth, both of New York, and the late Patricia Janiak.
John and his late wife Rev. Elizabeth J. (Ianiero) Janiak were founders and active pastors of Living Waters Foursquare Gospel Church in Smithfield, RI. Along with the church they also founded Hands Reaching Out Ministries (HROM) which shared the word of God through radio and television on local, national and international platforms for years.
The generous pastors also started a community outreach program which fed and clothed the homeless in downtown Providence.
John was an active member of the Laborers International Union of North America Local 271. John also served in the Navy, with distinction during the Korean War.
John sadly leaves behind his daughters, Bernadette Bessette of Warwick, Valerie Curley of North Providence, and Caroline Janiak of Johnston. He was also the grandfather to four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. John was also the father of Steven Janiak of North Providence. John is celebrating in heaven today reunited with his beloved wife once again.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Living Waters Church, Stillwater Rd., Smithfield, followed by burial with Military Honors at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Feed the Children, PO Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK. 73101.
