60, of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 18, 2016. She was the beloved wife of thirty-three years to J. Robert Jackson. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Eileen J. (Lester) Cahill of Cranston and the late Raymond J. Cahill, Jr. Pat was a nurse. It was what she wanted to be since she was a little girl. After graduating from Cranston East High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. She started working as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital Providence Unit on the Neurosurgical floor. After taking some time off to raise her family she returned to nursing at the Blackstone Valley Surgicenter in the post anesthesia care unit. She completed her nursing career at the ENT Center of RI.
Besides her husband she is survived by her loving children Christopher D.C. Jackson and his wife Lisa of Boston, MA, and Caitlin E.C. Jackson of Lincoln. She was the cherished grandmother of Lennox Jackson. Patty was the sister of Joan M. Cahill and her husband Robert Cita of Juneau, AK and Kathleen J. Cahill of Chico, CA. She also leaves her Uncle Robert Cahill and his wife Ellen of Warwick, mother-in-law Mary Jackson of Newport, as well as several brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pat enjoyed singing and was a member of her High School Chorus, traveling to Russia with them in 1972. She was also a member of the Holy Apostles Church Choir and traveled with the Diocese of Providence to the Vatican where they had audience with Pope John Paul II. Pat was very active at the church serving at different times as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, secretary, co-chair of the Dinner Dance Committee, and as a missionary for “Teens on a Mission” to Jamaica.
She enjoyed gardening and would surround her home with beautiful impatiens flowers every year. Pat also loved her Golden Retrievers; they were always by her side. She was a former AKC Golden Retriever breeder. She was a voracious reader and loved nothing better to sit and read a book on the beach at Bonnet Shores or on vacation at Siesta Key. Above all she cherished spending her time with her husband and children by whom she will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME &Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8p.m.
