Patrick K. Donahue of Johnston, RI, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 9th, 2025, at the age of 61. He was the son of the late James and Beatrice (Ethier) Donahue.
Born with a curious mind and a kind heart, Patrick was a man of many passions and quiet strengths. He dedicated much of his life to his work at Verizon, where his technical knowledge, work ethic, and ingenuity earned the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of those who knew him best. Tech-savvy long before it was the norm, he was the person everyone called when something needed fixing.
Outside of work, he was a man who found joy in the simple and meaningful: crafting in his woodshop, spending time outdoors, tending to his aquariums, and cheering on his favorite football teams. A proud Irishman at heart, he embraced his heritage with warmth and spirit. His faith was a steady presence in his life, guiding his actions and deepening his care for others.
Family was at the heart of everything Patrick did. At any family gathering, you could count on finding him with a baby in his arms or a dog by his side. It became a tradition — almost a rite of passage — for every niece or nephew to be carried around by Uncle Pat, who was never far from the laughter, stories, or backyard games. He cherished these moments and made time for every get-together, no matter how busy life became.
As a father, he was devoted, steady, and endlessly supportive. His two children were the pride and joy of his life. He never missed a chance to lend a hand or cheer from the sidelines. He showed up — always — with a solution and an open heart.
Patrick will be remembered as someone who could always be counted on. Whether you needed help fixing something, a quiet word of wisdom, or just a reassuring presence, he was there. His love for family, his reliability, and the warmth he brought to every room will be missed more than words can express.
Patrick is survived by his two children, Amanda N. Donahue of Harrisville and Sean P. Donahue of Coventry; as well as his four older brothers James E. Donahue and his wife Donna of North Port, FL., John Donahue and his wife Judy of Warwick, Bruce W. Donahue and his wife JoAnn of Johnston and Steven J. Donahue and his wife Patricia of Smithfield. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who were touched by his determination and his unwavering reliability.
Visiting hours will be Monday, June 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco Church, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich.
