Paul Francis Duclos

born on April 30, 1964, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 31, 2025.

Paul was a son, a father, a fiancé, a brother, an uncle, a great-uncle (lovingly known as “P-Paul”), a friend to many, a mentor, a leader, and a hard worker. The youngest of four siblings and endearingly known as “the baby” of the family, his journey through life was marked by warmth, humor, and his extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Known for being outgoing, curious, and endlessly people-oriented, Paul had a natural gift for making people feel seen and valued. His enthusiasm for life and “seize the day” spirit were contagious. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was a quiet drive, a good cigar, or time spent with loved ones, cherishing every moment of laughter, peace, and love along the way.

Growing up on Fiume Street in Pawtucket, Paul graduated from Shea High School, Class of 1982. Over the years, he held countless jobs in restaurants, transportation, speed boating, and more. Everywhere he went, he made lifelong friends. A natural problem solver and persistent tinkerer, he approached every project with his signature “we can do that” attitude.

At EMR Metal Recycling in Camden, New Jersey, Paul found both purpose and a team he considered family. He also loved exploring new places with his fiancé, Margarita, and her son, David, creating lasting memories together.

Paul’s love for food was legendary. For him, dining out was as much about the people and atmosphere as it was about the meal itself. He delighted in discovering new restaurants, while remaining loyal to his favorites. Key West, Florida, and Federal Hill in Providence were among his most beloved places, as both were filled with friends and memories.

A devoted dog lover, an avid history buff, and a lover of music, especially the band Queen, Paul found his greatest joy in family. He loved watching his daughters, Pamela and Laura, grow, celebrating every milestone with pride and marveling at their curiosity, kindness, and wit. Among his proudest accomplishments were the moments shared with loved ones and his world championship wins in speed boating, testaments to his determination, competitive spirit, and zest for life.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Pamela Duclos and Laura Duclos and her husband, Tim Blankenship; his fiancé, Margarita Fitts, and her son, David, whom he loved as his own; sisters Barbara Blanchard and Diane Whitehead; nephews and nieces Michael Blanchard, Julie Maccarone, Kristen Eubank, Casey Whitehead, and Patrick Campanini; and great-nieces and nephews Nathan, Samuel, Emma, Ethan, JohnPaul, Isla, and Emery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Rita V. (Gilbert) Duclos, and his sister, Kathleen Duclos; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Blanchard and David Whitehead.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Redwood Chapel at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2–5 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
