67, of Warwick, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Colleen (Goralski) Vorro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Carullo) Vorro.
Paul was Executive Director for the Providence Teachers Union for the past eleven years retiring in 2014. He started his professional career in the Providence School System as a teacher, then guidance counselor, principal, dean of students and assistant superintendent. Upon leaving Providence, he became Superintendent of Schools for the Town on North Providence and was a professor at Providence College. Throughout Paul's educational career he received many awards including The Key to the Town of North Providence.
Besides his wife Colleen, he was the devoted father of Matthew Vorro and his wife Elaine of Hope, Deana Vorro and her fiance' Silverio of Cranston; loving grandfather of Madelyn, Ava and Nicholas; and dear brother of Joseph R. Vorro of East Lansing, MI. Paul is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 20th at 9 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long St., Warwick. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
