In Loving Memory of Peter Best

Peter, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and the people who loved him most.

He found some of his greatest happiness outdoors, especially near the ocean. He loved spending time on the water, fishing, and quahogging—simple pleasures that brought him joy. Whether casting a line, searching the shoreline, or out on his rickety boat, he was happiest outside, surrounded by the water.

Peter also had a deep love for creating things with his hands. He was a talented craftsman and metalsmith who took great pride in the intricate process of lost-wax casting. He found joy in the patience, creativity, and craftsmanship the work required. His creations were a reflection of his curiosity and adventures by the ocean.

Above all, he was a devoted father and a cherished member of his family. He leaves behind his daughter, Catherine, and his two sons, John and James, who will carry his memory with them always. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley; his brother, Christopher, and sister-in-law, Linda; his sister, Mary Elizabeth, and brother-in-law, Kelly; his nephews, Michael, Christopher, and Dominick; and his Great Uncle David.

The memories he created with his family will remain with those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in every familiar shoreline, every handmade charm and belt buckle, and every quiet day spent by the water.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 14th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Relatives and friends invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Raymond Church, Providence. His burial is respectfully private.
