Peter J. Branca

73, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Patricia L. (Goff) Branca. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Catherine A. (Cece) Branca. Mr. Branca was a public safety officer for Community College of Rhode Island for 32 years until his retirement in May of 2015; he was an US Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his loving children, Virginia E. Fortunato and her husband Matthew of Wayne, NJ, Rebecca L. Resinger and her husband Matthew of Richmond, Joseph W. Branca and his wife Jamie of West Warwick and David Branca, Sr., of Bristol. He was the cherished grandfather of Christian Resinger, Luca Fortunato, Brandon Resinger, Grace Branca and David Branca, Jr; and also a brother of Ann P Porter of Cranston and Barbara A Branca of Coventry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 30 Warwick Ave, Cranston. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI, 02907 and also spiritual bouquets would be greatly appreciated.
