Peter E. Fortin, 33 of Providence passed away on Wednesday May 8, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Providence he was the son of Suzanne (Fortin) Letendre.
Peter was a remarkable and vibrant soul and a true master of the arts, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and compassion that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A graphic designer by profession, Peter was a cherished member of the Met-Cap Management team in Cranston. He secured his position with the company through a daring but successful stretch of the truth regarding his education. His risk was rewarded with a career where he was deeply appreciated and loved by his colleagues. Peter's artistry went far beyond his job; he was a self-taught scholar in multiple disciplines of art, often possessing knowledge that seemed boundless. His personal library was a treasure trove of rare books, each reflecting his passion for learning and his quest for artistic perfection.
Peter’s greatest masterpiece may well have been his own heart. Kind, reliable, and passionate, he nurtured relationships with a warmth and a smile that made everyone feel like family. Each photograph he took and every piece he painted was a story told from his heart. He leaves behind his loving mother Sue, his brothers Shawn and Jeff Fortin, and his beloved cat, Nixon.
As we remember Peter, we invite those who knew him to reflect on the joy and inspiration he brought into our lives. His legacy is not just in his art, but in the love he shared with us all. Peter will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire and influence generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday May 17, 2024, at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, from 4:00 -8:00 pm. Burial will be private.
