80, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday December 10, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Francis) Gallo.
They were married for fifty- five years. Peter was born in Providence, the son of the late Peter Gallo, Sr and Antonetta (Gentile) Gallo. Peter lived in Cranston most of his life and graduated from Cranston High School in 1953.
He received a Bachelor of Science Degree as well as a Masters Degree in Agency Counseling from Rhode Island College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean conflict.
Peter taught Electronics Technology at Cranston High School West for many years. He was a dedicated teacher and strived to be a role model for his students.
Music played a major part in his life from the time he was a teenager. He was especially fond of symphonic band music and played the trombone and baritone. He was a member of the Providence Federation of Musicians, for many years. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church and a daily mass communicate for over fifteen years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Paul F. Gallo and his wife Linda of Seaford, DE and Donna M. Gallo of Cranston; his grandchildren Matthew and Christopher Gallo of Coventry and Angelica Gallo of Seaford, DE. He was the brother of Jean Severns of Thousand Oaks, CA and the late Marie Balsofiore and Bruno Gallo.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church Providence at 9:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
