Peter G. Ivone

of Providence, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on  Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years to Rose J. (Palumbo) Ivone. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Domenic and Consiglia (Cozzolino) Ivone. Peter was a barber and hairstylist and the owner of Peter’s Hair Salon for many years.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving sons, Domenic P. Ivone and his wife Deborah of Burbank, CA and Joseph G. Ivone and his husband Roger Varnes of Tempe, AZ. Peter was the brother of  Josephine Cerce of Providence, Rita Lupo of  Cranston and the late Catherine Magnarella, Christine Marine, Elsie Marolla, Ernest Ivone and Jerry Ivone. His extended family includes Bobby Cesario, Donna Cesario, and Benjamin Horiguchi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
