It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter E. Lepre, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend. Peter passed away on May 18, 2026, in Boynton Beach, Florida, at the age of 84.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 15, 1941, Peter was the proud son of Italian parents. He honorably served his country in the National Guard and was temporarily called up to serve in the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Peter built a successful career in the liquor industry throughout Rhode Island, working with several establishments including Haxton’s and Douglas Liquors. In 1979, he and his wife Cynthia Lepre moved their five children to Conway, New Hampshire, where they purchased and operated the Bottle Keg from 1979 to 1988. During those years, he became a familiar and respected figure throughout the valley, raising his five children while building lasting relationships within the community. After selling the store, Peter continued his career working for Joseph Blais Distributors and later the Budweiser distributor of Southern New Hampshire.
Peter was deeply involved in the Mount Washington Valley community and became one of the founding members of The White Mountain Milers running club in 1985. He was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met. Peter earned the trust and respect of many through his honesty, humor, and willingness to help others without expecting anything in return.
A strong, charismatic, and compassionate man, Peter touched the lives of countless people with his quick wit, and unforgettable personality. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all, Peter’s proudest accomplishments lay in his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Cynthia M. (Yates) Lepre, who stood by his side as a steadfast partner in life. Peter’s children include Jennifer M. Collins and her husband, Matt, of Sanbornville, New Hampshire; Peter E. Lepre, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Corvallis, Oregon; Rachel M. Losinno and her husband, Joel, of Cinnaminson, New Jersey; and Jacquelyn Gagne and her husband, Steven, of Conway, New Hampshire. He also cherished the memory of his late daughter, Lisa M. Taylor. His family circle extended to his son-in-law, David W. Taylor of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, as well as his siblings, Carole Lepre of Petaluma, California, Anthony Lepre of Cranston, Rhode Island, and Rose Cacchiotti of Cranston, Rhode Island.
Peter’s legacy lives on through the next generation, including his grandchildren Samuel and Luke Taylor, Gaven and Grace Gagne, Andrew Losinno, and Wendy and Owen Lepre, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to him.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, and Elena (Lombardi) Lepre, and his brother, Joseph Lepre. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, yet his memory endures through the love, strength, and lasting memories shared by his family and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
A committal service will be held on June 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited to gather in the administration parking lot at 10:45 a.m.
