95, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. Peter was the beloved husband of the late Teresa (Buonaiuto) Nero. He was the son of the late Pietro and Nelly (Crudele) Nero. Peter was the brother of the late Vilma Ombrellaro. Mr. Nero served his country in the Navy and was a veteran of WWII. Peter was production control supervisor for ITT Grinnell and helped supervise fire protection during the construction of the World Trade Center. He later worked as general manager for his late son-in-law, William "Billy Sheetz" Giardillo, at Modern Jewelry Manufacturing. Peter is survived by his daughter Judy, which whom he resided with, and his son Peter L. Nero and his wife Linda of Westerly. He also leaves his loving grandson Michael Nero. Peter was an accomplished pianist, along with his wife until her passing. They were devoted to community service, playing piano at the Hope Alzheimer's Center in Cranston. Peter was an avid Yankee fan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Home Service on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Saturday MORNING 8:00-9:00 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
