Pha Chantharangsy

89, of Cranston passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of the late Khamdy (Phengthirath) Chantharangsy.

 Born in Laos, he was a son of the late Chantha and Chanthy (Thoummavong) Mounphosay.

 While living in Laos, Mr. Chantharangsy served in the police academy for two years and was an elementary school teacher from 1967-1980. 

 In 1981 he moved to the United States where he worked in manufacturing at Sports Graphics in Johnston, Metallizing in Pawtucket and was a jewelry polisher at Swarovski before retiring in 1998.

 Pha was an active member of the Bhudda Wat Bhuddist Temple in Smithfield. He enjoyed sewing, writing and was creative. He was supportive of people in his community.

 He is survived by his children, Bounmy Soumphansouk, Phousady Phithayaphone, Phommady Keovichit and Thanongphone “Chansy” Chantharangsy; a brother, Khamchanh Chantharangsy; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Khammai Chantharangsy, Khamsone Chantharangsy and Khampheng Chantharangsy.

 VISITING HOURS Friday, September 27, 2024 from 4-8PM and Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9-11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. A Buddhist prayer service will begin at 11am.
