79, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at home. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Dolores S. (Crudale) Nardone. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Gerardo and Guivinia (DeTroia) Nardone. Philip was an operating engineer working out of Union Hall Local #57 IUOE for 50 years before retiring in 1994. He proudly joined the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #57 in February of 1962, and took great pride in his work. Through his years as an operating engineer he was part of the construction of many landmarks that many of us utilize each day. Philip will truly be remembered as a fine, loving, caring and hardworking man. He loved others unselfishly. Philip is survived by his loving children, Geri Franchetti and her husband Steve of North Attleboro, MA, Donna Guarini and her husband Frank of West Warwick, Judi Pompei-Smith of Warwick. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph Guarini, Allan and Stephanie Pompei. He was the brother of Filomena Olivo of West Greenwich, Mary Rosati of Jamestown, Pasquale Nardone of Johnston, Ann Ursillo of Cranston, and the late Hilda Nardone, Vincenza Buffardi, Santina DiBiase, Ernest Nardone. Philip also leaves behind his beloved companion of 2 years JoAnn Taft of Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mark Church, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
